Dam! Looks my dentists chair!
Thanks for the info on Wake Boarding. The technology on that boat sounds amazing! We did similar by setting engine speed on the digital tac, trimming the boat by feel and moving people around the boat for "ballast" impacts.................. Seems the skills in our heads have been replace by computer screens. Dang, next thing you know the points ignition and carburettor will be replaced by all sorts of fancy technology too!!!!! Okay, I'm showing my age, I had a beautiful 1987 FourWinds Sundowner back in the day. Very nice boat, and pretty much top shelf but like everything progress continues.....
As for the smog, smoke comments I saw a couple pages back from the Canada fires..... I think mentioned by Danpb; we have that too.
Looking off the deck this morning to the South East:

Not quite India for air quality but that's not a standard we want to catch up too!!!
And Zane, loved your photos from the mountains! Back at you with a favourite from Turquoise Lake near Leadville, CO.
Wow Dan, gorgeous night sky!! I guess we're ahead of India, at least ours isn't brown.............. Texas is Azure Blue, but baking hot, THI was 115 in the shade this afternoon. Love the beauty of that rolling Iowas countryside...."Merica!"
Our friend with the great seats just upgraded her water transportation to a 90'er. She wants us to go to Eleuthera with her so I can capture the boat, the ocean, just everything..........gotta say, I'm all in for a week of that!

Great shots, Zane and Dan! The smoke from Canada is hitting our region again!
No airshow for me in July. Will try to shoot fireworks in Washington DC on 4th of July, it will be a hot day and if I want a good spot for shooting I will need to be there before 3:00PM.
Something worth celebrating, the Supreme Court just struck down race-based college admission, a win for all Americans, especially for Asian Americans, who have been blatantly discriminated against in college admission simply because they are too good and have yellow skin, they are the wrong minority in the admission offices' eyes.

Dan,
Here in Maryland it is overwhelming! You can really smell the smoke and the haze is terrible.
1 tragedy here is that if and when it rains the smoke particles(such a thing?)in the rain drops are killing trees. So we are being told

Just got home from an all day pool shoot, my thermometer hit 106 mid-afternoon with a THI of 115 in the shade, sporting! I think I'm going to start wearing a swim suit to these assignments!
OK, to the first Dan, beautiful Milky Way shot, on my bucket list once I get cameras a little more figured out. Just beautiful.
.
Oregon has had smoke filled summers for years, this year has been a safe one for now but the 100+ temps come this weekend. They have said the forest fire smoke really helps the grapes/vineyards so maybe the corn will sell better with a smoked flavour
.
2nd Dan, I'll take a big bowl of that
Hi Bill, Yes, I got certified when I was in high school and have kept current ever since. I dusted off my rig today so I could work on the pool this afternoon. The only place that's habitable is the bottom of our pool............
Having fun with the Milky way theme................ About every 5 years or so the stars align and I get off my "domestic" chain for about a week. When that happens the camera's go in the truck with some food and a sleeping bag and I go off somewhere nice and quiet like, hopefully with good color, fall colors specifically.
Many Years ago it was Colorado, found myself up on Kebler pass just west of Crested Butte at Lost Lake Camp Ground. It was a full moon night.
Milky way with full moon lighting the trees:
Full Moon on Lost Lake at 3am...........
And a couple years ago up in Minnesota west of Grand Marais at Bearskin Campground we got this Milky way photo.
Fun trips but sleep is optional! Usually get my best sleep in the afternoons........

. Bill on these hot hazy, from fires in Canada, smelly, you can smell the smoke, we sometimes venture up to Antietam battlefield(Nutters) and digest, or try to, a cold creamy treat!
I had this banana split ONCE! 6 huge scoops with toppings? Yeah I finished it but I regretted it!!!
