It seems that this year will be the one where, for whatever reason, I miss every decent airshow on the east coast. So I am relegated to hanging out at RDU and catching what I can.

Nice ones! I haven't shot commercial jets for a long time. There will be a show up in Orange County, NY this weekend, the lineup is just OK, BA, A-10 and a few others. If they had an F-22 or F-35 I might take the 560-mile trip, but not just for these, considering the tolls, the price of the ticket and parking they ask for. The weather is not looking good this weekend anyway. For me, I won't have any more shows to go to until August (small show in WV 80 miles away and the show in Atlantic City), the really good one I am looking forward to is the one at Oceana in Sept. I didn't go to the show in Pocono few weeks ago because I wanted to see the F-35B at Jones Beach, NY on the same weekend. So for July I will be just shooting hummingbirds in my yard.

Doug,
So as to validate my "Missing every show", I am driving up to Orange County NY on Tuesday. Can't go sooner. Timing is everything....or nothing! Maybe I'll try to get to Oceana too and perhaps we can meet up. (I'm down in NC just outside of Raleigh).

This is great "fc"!
I was in some training at Ft Huachuca in 1967 and had a Sunday off, so we went up to the "graveyard" Davis-Mothan AB. It was a time when no one was there at all. I had an Kodak Instamatic with me but just not the right camera for some nice images. This was in my "infant" stage of photography. SE Asia was next.
Ol' Shakey. Crawled in the wing crawlspace to #2 and #3 engines during flight one time. It wasn't a bad flight going from Tyndall AFB to Ellington AFB many years ago.

Great capture!
Dan
Thank you Dan. I've not been through the "graveyard" though I may try it in the winter. This was at the Pima Air & Space Museum, 2019.

This picture shows an SR 71 flying during an airshow at Mildenhall, Great Britain. It looks so surreal seeing an SR 71 at this low angle wish I had been there for this airshow in the 1980s.

I wish I had seen the SR-71 and the F-14 flying in person.
