Thank you Bill, that was a tongue in cheek reference to some hockey puck who chimed in last year. My Buddy Eddie Ray spanked him and sent him off into the abyss.
Truthfully, I don’t consider myself to be an Uber creative visionary photographer. My skill sets are particularly tailored for commercial markets and I’m a pretty good shooter, not unlike the rest of our family here, except a lot of you are way beyond pretty good……..🤣

I figured that and I kinda remember that but had to say it
That was just an off handed remark Ray...
Ray, I photographed hs/college football and lacrosse for many years, long ago. The size of the players today dwarf what I was used to playing against when I was in hs and college. I mean some the "o-line and d-line players are monsters!!!!
YES..a new coach can always have an influence on team play!
Well done!

Great shots Ray, colors are vivid!
Thanks Jim, I think the colors are coming out of the R6 like that. I do not add any saturation or luminance, in fact, when I shoot teams in red I desaturate red in some photos because anything white nearby will absorb and reflect the red.

Just wonderful colors! Have you had time/opportunites to use the Ronin ?
Yes. I took it to film my grandkids halftime show a couple of weeks ago. While it worked great, I found it was awkward as far as logistics go, that is getting it from the house, to the car and then into the stadium. I tried to keep it assembled except for the Ninja, so I had it seat belted into the back seat. If the weather cooperates tonight we will make another trip to Leander to try to film them again.
I need a lot of practice working the movements as far as panning, tilt, etc. But it is rock solid with no shakes or wiggles. I have been very busy lately and have not had the necessary time to practice. Hopefully, things will settle down so I can.
My biggest problem with video is processing it with FCP. I am still learning, but like using the Ronin, I need practice.
I am visiting the US for 2 weeks in 2023 for an aviation photography trip. Any suggestions for which 2 Air Shows to see on consecutive weekends...?? I plan to travel anywhere between March and October.
The plan is to take in an air show on the first weekend, visit an aviation museum mid-week, go to a second air show on the second weekend and then return home (to Perth, Australia). Most likely I will enter and exit the US at LAX.
While I am looking at the MILAVIA Air Show Calendar for 2023 - and that is quite useful - you can only glean so much from the web and more importantly, many of you will have visited these shows and hopefully can make some good recommendations.
Ideally, I would like to see a spread of classic civilian and military aircraft from the 1940s to 1950s (Mustang, Lightning, B-17, P-47, Corsair etc.) and also modern military types i.e. F-16, F-15, F-22, F35 etc. I am less interested in photographing the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds and more interested in capturing single types. (In terms of museums, I visited PIMA Air & Space just before the pandemic, so don't need to see it again.)
