Watching one of the most important people in my life lift off from DFW at the moment, heading to DOH and then on to The Maldives. I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience for Hunter and his new bride, but way too far and in way too unfriendly territory to suite me. Everyone is different but I have zero interest in spending that much time in an aluminum tube, don't care what's at the other end.
Thank you to Ray, Douglas, and all the Pup snappers! Nice “shed” and Animal Rescue update from Wilson Construction Inc. Hoping James III is better now.
Nice new ride Jan-Arie. Sorry to hear that your recovery is so difficult. One step at a time – you will get there!
Jim, about this gear acquisition problem …. So you love the 85/1.2 so much it made you order the 50/1.2 …… OK, just pop up here on the couch, lay back, relax, and I’ll just go and get the medication … “I was told that I was to "enjoy" this wedding and not have a camera in my hand” Poor you! That must have been torture – talk about cruel and unusual punishment! Health and happiness to the newly-weds !!!

Anyone looking for a mint EF 70-200/2.8 III ? I'm going to put it on B&S in the next couple of days. Seems like $1600 is a few hundred bucks below the average sales price.
Been planning for a pre-dawn drone assignment for a few days but the weather pushed it off until this morning. 4am departure from home for this shoot downtown, lots of prep, permissions, updates, and calls to my good friend Mike Brewington, but it all ended in a successful shoot this morning. Conditions were spectacular, 61 degree, light and variable, wispy pink Cirrus clouds, it was ideal. Once again the Inspire 2 earned it's keep, flew off 3 pairs of batteries and it flew like it was on rails. We'll see how it does this afternoon when the air gets churned up and it's blowing 10-20, Mike would tell you "it'll handle it!" but it makes me nervous when it's battling those kinds of winds and sounds like 1,000 mad hornets.

Nice ride, Zane! Mine is blue too but darker blue.
Went to Conowingo Dam to shoot bald eagles yesterday, lots of shots but these are kind of like airshows.
Looks like you had a great day Douglas!!!!
Beautiful tandem here! Literally a "wingman"!
Dan
Thanks for the reassurance. Good to hear from you, hope you are doing well !
Hey Jim, just a lurker now, not picked up a camera for 2.5 years now due to personal issues and not being able to travel, but doing ok. I still enjoy the conversations and high quality images here though.
You are a charter member of the group, much more than a lurker. Sorry to hear that your shooting has been curtailed, you are an exceptional photographer. Life has certainly changed for all of us in the last couple of years, but I guess we should be thankful that we are still standing. Keep in touch, wishing you the best.
I just had a conversation with a lady who is looking for hangar space at McKinney, after several emails back and forth it turns out she would like to hangar by themselves, preferably with an office including a full kitchen.................and "she's ok with $800 a month.................." Someone doesn't get out much!
Well, if no one's gonna post a plane or something, guess I'll post some hands.

Here in Central Texas we are getting phone calls daily (plus mailings) asking to buy our property. Prices have skyrocketed higher than Big Sur California beach property. Our property appraisals are rising too, if I wasn't over 65 with my appraisal frozen I couldn't afford the property taxes. I use to tell people $5 million to start, yet they continue to call. Now, I tell them if they don't have $15 million I am going to hang up. I have no desire to sell this farm, I believe in farming and open spaces.
Crazy time Ray, but I can't imagine that you would ever part with that little slice of heaven. The hangars aren't for sale, which just seems to throw gas on the suitor's desire to offer nutty $$$ trying to change my mind. With Brandon in the White House money has less value every day and "things" are all that have value, and plenty of it.

So true. When I bought this place the farmer asked if I was going to sell it. I told him I would die on the property. I don't want him to call me a liar. By the way, his son is now the farmer. Hope I live until the grandson/granddaughter becomes the farmer.
