That kind of dedication and love of your craft serves you well Ray! Look at the water spray and the action in that image, just outstanding!
Like I told the editor, it keeps me out of the recliner. Last night I drove to College Station for a 6pm start time, then there was a game beginning at 7pm in Bryan. What else do I have to do?
You gotta watch out for the players, sometimes they just jump out of the frame!
Ray, thought you might enjoy this...........I've got two FJ400's coming for a series of executive portraits. Some of the locations won't have 110V readily available. I think you could drum up a number of clients with a set up like this.

Yep, but I would need to add about 6 10lb bags of sand to keep the lights upright in our wind!
If I lived in an area like Rockwall (Heath High School) or similar, it would be worth it. Here in Bell County there isn't much of a market for team photos or player cards. My buddy in Killeen does a lot of studio work with families and babies as his cash cow. The sports work is almost a side job.
During the preseason I was waiting on a defensive lineman to get in his uniform so I could shoot the defensive linemen for a feature in the paper. This kid I didn't know put on his gloves in front of me then told me he was ready for his photo. I didn't know who he was or why he was there. As it turns out he was walking by and saw the camera so he decided to get his photo taken. Turns out he is an amazing kid who is super aggressive, on and off the field. Earlier this summer before his senior year he went to a football camp. There were recruiters/scouts for the University of Arkansas there. They were so impressed with him they offered him a scholarship on the spot. I think he has others in the queue. He is that darn aggressive. I took his photo and sent them to him in an email. I figured a kid like that deserves a break. He is a fantastic defensive player and will throw his body at a brick wall to crumble it. Amazing.
Went out to DFW yesterday to hang with some friends of mine, and this bird was departing DFW in the late afternoon sunshine. It was such a gorgeous day yesterday, and today is looking about as good. Heading out there again this afternoon.
One thing that I have never noticed until yesterday, the Airbus family of jets takes FOREVER for their landing gear to be stored up in the aircraft, compared to Boeing jets.
I stopped in at Competitive Camera this morning to pick up the R6 and associated gear. They received one, one R3, with no indication when to expect the next one. My guy in Austin says that they expect their first in the next few days. And that one is mine. There are a number of people on FM who have gotten theirs in the last few days from various sources.
In case you guys wonder why I post sports photos on MAGA vs the Sports Corner, the Sports Corner gets one post/day. It is almost dead. You guys comment and "like" and I really appreciate it, good and bad as long as it is constructive. I love it! This is the most eclectic forum for photography around. I appreciate all of you and your posts and comments. What a great place to be on the internet! 👍
While I was waiting for the fog to clear at the Burbank Airport so I could photograph the exterior of the G-550 that I was hired to shoot, this B-737 from Alaska Airlines with Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks was departing. Yes, it's a little backlit, but I still like it.
