Has anyone had any experience with the 70-200/2.8 III vs. their Series II? I remember when Canon called me to tell me that they were sending me a II to evaluate and I thought, "how could a lens be any better than my SeriesI?" I shot with the II for a week, filled out an evaluation form and promptly put my order in for a Series II as soon as it was released. the difference is subtle, but it's there and any edge is a good one.
My Series II is functioning perfectly, but if there is an equivalent bump in performance in the III, I'll let someone else enjoy the Series II and upgrade. The II's are bringing between a $900-$1200 currently, I'd probably sell mine for you $850 + -.
"Please disregard my last transmission............."
I watched a half dozen reviews on the Series III, put my II on Buy & Sell and 30 seconds after I hit enter it was gone. I have a dozen people that I need to reply to and thank over and above my buyer. I pick up my III in the morning.

Jim,
Will be looking forward to your review of the new lens. I've been thinking about the same move. Even though I plan on an R5 soon, I hate the extending zoom RF 70-200.
I'll let you know as soon as I get to shoot a little with it. I was on the fence about going with the RF version but then I realized that it would be nuts to limit one of my favorite lenses to one body when I have four others. My next wrestling match is over the RF 85/1.2. I can just "feel" the portraiture that that lens will help me create, it's been waking me up at night with exciting ideas.
The Big back shot of the F1 that's the stuff would love to see you make a head on take off shot.
Or maybe some tasty ATA , well my wish list is long Enjoy the weekend all..
I'm with you, working on those perspectives. I'm hoping that ATAC does some flying for the air show next month. I was supposed to do their photography when they moved here but I think it's one of those situations where there's no budget and "Herman in shipping likes photography"...................

Too bad, looks like a winter project.
Having ended my service with a couple of years as our unit's production controller, we would have her scheduled for a Friday functional check flight with no problem! Yeah...that's the way you do it!
Prayers for those involved and thankful they are still breathing with the rest of us!
