Very cool, Jo. When you get a chance, would love to see a photo of the machine set up. What kinds of material will it cut?
We have baskets of hanging begonias in the front of the house, and last weekend when I was watering one, a Carolina wren flew out and she was pretty angry. Turns out this is why. Now I have to figure out how to water without drowning the little guys. There are four or five of them in there.
It’s a 60W laser with a 16x24” cutting area. The box down to the left is a chiller; there’s a water jacket around the laser tube. It will cut up to 1/4” wood, acrylic, paper, leather. It won’t cut metal (wrong wavelength) but it will mark it if you use a special sauce. I also have a rotary attachment which allows me to engrave cups and other round things.
Must be that time of year for Carolina Wrens. I was sitting in the family room editing video a few days ago and noticed a Wren couple working hard to build their nest in a hanging basket by the pool. These guys use that basket every year and it's right outside the windows looking out to the pool so they are fun to watch.

Nice. My local public library has a laser cutter, and two 3D printers for the library card carrying public to use. Of course the library has been closed for months now, and the 3D printers are pumping out various items needed by first responders. As are all the other 3D printers in the county library system. Don't know if they are using the laser cutters for the same purpose.
Want to "play with" laser cutters, or 3D printers? Check out your local public library, some of them aren't just a place for books anymore.

Since 50's (I believe), the main motivator in the advertisement industry is invent a problem then introduce the solution, you are having a lot of problems with your manual broom, so buy this automatic one and all universe's problems will disappear!
It is what it is, crazy...
You are describing the U.S. pharmaceutical industry. They market (to the public) so many prescription "solutions" to problems that can best be described as a natural part of growing older. While their expensive "solution" to your "problem" may work (at least in the short term), the glossed over side effects are often much worse than the "problem" they are claiming to "fix".
Are pharmaceutical companies allowed to market directly to the public in Bahrain, or are they only allowed to market to doctors?
That's a good example of what can be captured if the client will listen re: light and angles. Adam is very pleased. I'm thinking the R5 might be light enough to use in that application. I'm excited to see exactly what the IBIS does when you pull those kind of G's.

I tried to watch the video, but had to turn it off. I'll try to watch it again in a day or two, when I will make sure to have the sound off, and hopefully that song won't pop back in my head.
I'm sure the video will be stunning, but couldn't you find any other song?
I didn't experience any heating problems with the R5 the other day, but in more extreme conditions (more extreme than 96 degrees....?) looks like accessory manufacturer "Tilta" is on top of it. Kind of surprising considering the camera isn't even released yet................

Choosing music for cinema is one of the most difficult facets of the whole process and, obviously, very subjective..............

Gero, brother, where have you been all that time?!
Hi Anwar,
I hope you are well. I had a sort of hiatus from photography due to a very busy schedule of work, balancing school athletic and club athletic events for my kids, and trying to keep myself in some physical shape. that has eased off considerably now so I have been getting back into nature photography. The only thing that seems to be flying around these days is the police helicopter, and no air shows, so not much else to go after here.
I did have the pleasure of catching up with a local family of peregrine falcons, so I'll count that as aviation/avian photography
