Thanks Dan! Chandler is "Guns Up!" All the way, dyed in the wool Texas Tech.
Glenn shot that of us at the "Hudson Flight" participant's party the night before the flight over (and I mean "OVER") NYC last year. The trip would have been worth it just to sit in the brief, it was truly The Mother Of All Briefs............The Thunderbirds were on a conference call because they were launching from another field north of us.........
TTU and Texas A&M...solid core learning centers!!!!
I envy you Jim!!! I always wanted to be a fighter pilot as a kid. Oh well......God had a different road for me.
Thanks!
Dan

Went to Arlington, Virginia today, hoping to get a few shots of the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds flying over the monuments in Washington DC. From where I stood, near the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial, I could have the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol all in sight. That's the only place in the area that offers this view. But the jets were simply flying too high for me to incorporate any ground elements in the frame unless I shot at a wider FL, then the jets would have just looked like little dots. Anyways, here are a couple shots from today, and one sunrise shot from the past so you could see the view I was hoping to get. There were a fair number of people where I was, everyone seemed to follow the social distancing guideline
You’re right Dan, both solid schools. Chandler’s big brother Hunter is a Junior at A&M, Honors Curriculum. He's interning this summer for a big accounting firm and they've already signed him up for a position upon graduation.

That is GREAT news Jim!!! I know the "cadet corps" at A&M very well and have visited them often while at Ft Hood.

One of my joys doing “landscapes”, is just setting up a shot and letting the sunrise / sunset wash over me, taking frames for a couple of hours. Reviewing those images later is a great way for me to learn how the light changes.
Occasionally, I swing the camera around and take a pop at something else if the light change is a little slow.
Came by this true a friend was posted on the Blue Angels tribute website on Facebook.
Took the liberty of adding some exif data to give proper credit to the poster...
I had a little time this afternoon to begin evaluating the Canon 600 Series III. No surprise, my initial reaction is WOW! I loved my 600 Series I, but it weighed a ton. This lens, in comparison, is a feather. Sharp? Oh yeah................

I see you're getting your ducks lined up. That looks like it was taken at or quite near the minimum focus distance. The OOF areas look absolutely wonderfull – even brightness and butter smooth. WOW indeed.
