Sheila made me take a break from my spring hedge and bush manicuring, so my default when I sit down is to see how all of you are doing. I've been trying to cap my hedge trimming at a couple of hours at a whack because the price paid in aches and pains for the following three or four days is not much fun. Hard to stop at two hours though.........unless you have someone who comes out and threatens you James and I have spent the last three days together and he takes no prisoners so I was pretty worn out last night when he went home I'm surprised he hasn't FaceTimed me yet today to get a ride over here. We've been taking hour plus excursions on the John Deere this week and I'm amazed at how he sits on my lap and takes it all in, cuz he's not one for relaxing. He talks, sings, and points out all kinds of stuff, never gets bored, as soon as we get back from one trip, he's ready to head out on the next.
We flew the Inspire 2 together yesterday afternoon, he was grooving on that!
Every once in a while they highlight a good landscape shooter but mostly it's just weird subject matter that, I would think, matters little to the general photographic audience. You know how you see some outstanding image in an ad and it starts you thinking about what you might create with that equipment? Well, Hasselblad must not believe in that line of thought because mostly what comes to my mind is what great gear it used to be and how dumb the images are that they use to promote the product. Seems like they are more interested in being "out there" than selling Hasselblads to real photographers. When my friend Professor Ernst Wildi was running the place it was a much different company, sad to see.

Glad your test was negative, are you feeling crummy? Hope you are fine!
I felt some symptoms, physically of course, so I called the COVID hotline and they gave me an appointment next day @ 18:00.
The funny thing, they gave me a full medical (paid) leave so I am staying at home till May 2nd
The result appeared next day (Friday) morning: negative. Now I am (supposed to) in a quarantine for 2 weeks. On May 3rd I have to retest.
I am emotionally and physically good , even if something happened, I am (still) an alpha timber wolf...
It needs a humongous amount of power to bring down an alpha wolf

Hi Jim, Nice to see your taking things easy ……. It’ll be nice to get back to work and have a rest. Good to see young James is looking after you … checking your log book – seeing that your running low on currency for the ‘Deere, and arranging check rides. Smart chap!

Hasselblad ……. hummm.
Fair disclosure, I’ve never held one, and I don’t want to.
Even before the recent fall off in camera sales, I had no idea how they remained in business. So I followed the link you posted and reviewed the work presented. That done, the question is, is that work aspirational and who would aspire to it? Well, there is a strong following for some of that stuff in the UK Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). It’s a faction that – IMHO – puts Art first and Photography second.
The PAGB is the national umbrella organisation for local camera clubs – of which I am a member. In my experience, there are loads of very successful club members who are in the art first photography second faction. This is of course sour grapes on my part. But here’s the thing. Our need for high resolution cameras is minimal. We project at 1600 x 1200 px max and prints are limited to 50cm x 40cm – including the mount. Just about any modern camera – including ‘phones – will do.
Ah, but what about the pro market I hear you ask. I may be wrong but I think they are well served by “Full Frame” and the few who choose to go “Medium Format” have Leica, Phase, Fuji, Pentax, as well as ‘blad.
