A few years ago we were lighting smoke bombs with all the kids on our driveway and they were running through the smoke. Halle somehow got a tiny spark on her cheek that had flown up. I was trying to keep it all very safe but in spite of that this happened. She had a little mark for a while and it eventually went away, but my memory has not. I've not lit so much a sparkler since then. What if that had landed on her pupil..........ugh......unthinkable, particularly on my watch....but anyone's.. Love fireworks, just not worth the risk.
Wonderful Mark! When you have time, would you post your settings for that fireworks burst? I've never gotten a shot that I'm happy with, either to short, or too longhand washed out, well done!
Tomorrow morning I'm going to pick up my Inspire 2 outfit, thanks for the most part to Mike Brewington's encouragement. I wouldn't have even known about this particular set up being available if it hadn't been for Mike keeping his eye out for me. This set up is out of the box spotless with many of the goodies that are necessities for the serious operator. So, the guy who said he had no interest in drone work now begins a new level of it. Remind sue of the morning I told one of the gurus at my lab that I had no interest in Photoshop and never planned to use it..........................Wise people learn that you should never say never, God does have a sense of humor.
Captured this guy (could be a gal but I lack schooling in the ability to determine that information)this morning as Sheila and I headed out this morning. Don't think I have ever seen a red Dragonfly, but The Creator's Handiwork is obvious.............
Sheila, Chandler and I are going to next year's DC Salute to America. After watching yesterday's event I couldn't believe we didn't plan for it this year. What a great celebration of our wonderful country and it's history.
Picked up my new I2 this morning, doing firmware updates, even the paired batteries require firmware updates. Once I get everything current and the winds die off a little, I'll head to the wide open spaces and get familiar with this great tool. Poor Mike Brewington, he's going to block my number............

Thanks! Your shot from the Rangers game came out well - was that handheld?
The photo I posted was shot on a tripod, 24-105 zoom at 24 mm, ISO100, and f/9 with my old 7D. I use the bulb setting and hold the shutter open during the burst with a remote. That shot was 9 seconds.
You have to play it by ear. If you leave the shutter open too long and there are too many bursts you'll overexpose.
I tried to get a shot of the American Airlines DC-3 without people in the shot, but one of the sponsors was hogging the pre show time entirely. However, I did wind up getting inside it, too.
All these shot with the 28 f/2 AI-s that was formerly Rodolfo's.

Is there a plane somewhere in your post "NOC"? ...... Very well preserved plane and stewardess ain't too bad also!
Sorry I am an old fart and the eye candy woke me up!
Dan
Don it rained up NW of DC all day until about 6pm. Our area is in the flight patterns for BWI and Dulles and the military enroute to "Site6" under the mountain.
The USAF jets flew by but the ceiling was so low, I only saw them for a second! Their engines were so loud that the house vibrated!
Great capture...Hope you stayed dry!
Dan
I wanted the people gone, and the plane alone in the shot. You'd think they'd have done their eye candy shots the previous day when all the sponsors had their opportunities to get in there (One of the sponsors was the ones mucking it up for the rest of us)
I don't think the stewardesses of that era wore that type of uniform, either.

Those two scans of your dad's from the AZ ANG ramp are amazing!
So glad when these kinds of images are saved and shared, so many times photos like that are just discarded by family.
Let's see more!
Thanks Zane. I know my father would be pleased to know that these old images continue to be enjoyed. Here are a couple of 4x5 negative scans I made. According to his notes, dad made these images as his squadron was preparing to transition from the F-86 to the F-104. The CO wanted some nice photos of the squadron before they changed birds. The Copperheads had gone from F-51's to F-86A's to F-86D's to F-86L's. The F-104 was going to be a serious change of pace. Dad shot these images with his USAF issue KE-12 4x5 camera - essentially a drab olive Graflex Speed Graphic. He was shooting from the back seat of his beloved T-33. His favorite A2A platform.
