Humming Birds are fun! I used to climb up on the roof of the cabin and shoot down on them. Need to find those photo's again, but did attach a couple from the deck with them at the feeder. Amazing how much more I have learned since playing with a 30D back in 2007.
Nice shots Dan! I've never been able to get any in the backyard until a couple of weeks ago. Yet another one of God's amazing creations! I often wonder if He smiled during Creation, thinking ,"wait until they discover this.........."?
It feels like it too. First couple days were groggy and foggy. It doesn't take much to bring it on, anything from a small abscess in one or more of the pouches to an infection or perforation of the bowel.
"Diverticula are small, bulging pouches that can form in the lining of your digestive system. They are found most often in the lower part of the large intestine (colon). Diverticula are common, especially after age 40, and seldom cause problems.
Sometimes, however, one or more of the pouches become inflamed or infected. Diverticulitis can cause severe abdominal pain, fever, nausea and a marked change in bowel habits."
It was definitely a sudden onset. I have to go stock up on yogurt when I get out of here, the antibiotics are killing off the good gut bacteria as well as the bad, which could lead to another problem, ick. And in six weeks or so, I get one of Niall's fun tests to rule out any other problems that could lead to surgery or worse.

Wow Laura! You sound like a walking drug store! Any idea what brought this all on?
Been away for a few days and trying to catch up; lots going on!
Laura, I'm so sorry about Jerri, and even more sorry about your hospitalization. Glad you seem to be on the mend, you've had a rough few months.
Nick, I hope you are doing better as well. You've got some scary-sounding stuff going on.
And Glenn, amazing! Congratulations on your F-18 ride, that must have been a thrill. I don't recall ever seeing the Blues and the Thunderbirds flying together. Is that a first?
Jim, funny you've discovered hummingbirds in your yard this year. We haven't had them much either, but my neighbor has a couple of feeders and I was surprised when she told me that she has hummers come by often. So I put out a feeder as well. So far we just have this female ruby-throated (the only species we have up here).
Working on getting some images, but I need to be more patient. She doesn't stay long, and then she doesn't come back for a couple of hours. These were hand-held with a 7DII and a 100-400II. I've since tried a remote control setup using the 5DIV, but haven't had any luck.

Did you wear speed pants? My first ride they didn't have any that would fit my thighs so the young lady who flew me left hers on the ramp and we went without. I missed about 1/3 of that flight, but those short naps are really refreshing..........
No speed pants in the blue jets! The constant inflation/deflation of g-suit interferes with the pilots smooth flying i understand.

Laura, we really need a dislike button for all your problems. Hope you get sprung soon.
Glenn, Awesome!!! I'm also upset I didn't know you were in town, I live 15 minutes from Burke Lakefront!

Oh man i didnt realize that. For some reason I thought you lived near Dayton, OH and the Air Force Museum. I wish I knew as well cause I sat around twiddling my thumbs most of Friday waiting for my flight home. But now I know!

Hey Mark:
Thanks and how are ya man? I'm told its a first for all three North American Demo teams to ever fly their complete Delta formations together. Go figure! I feel like I've seen various photos over the years of a single, or the solos flying together from the various teams but never all 21 jets that I can remember.
The Blues and Tbirds did do a photo op in Pensacola last year with pretty nasty results (google that one) which really up'd the "safety" game for this one. Was pretty surprised the Tbirds got approval to be honest.
Guess we are having fun with Hummers. A Humming Bird nesting. This photo isn't the "best" optically, the 70-300 just is a bit soft when out at 300mm but was what I had that day. The family was above Marble, Colorado near the old Marble Quarry (must have been between 9000 & 10,000) ft elevation) when we found this little guy in a bush. Amazing sight, we had never seen that before or since.

Right, now that you do, next time you're in town again to shoot all three teams and ride with the Blues, the beer's on me!

OMG, Laura, I'm so sorry. Your feelings are all so familiar. Our loved animals give us all they have, and more, until they just can't do it anymore. We will all cross Rainbow Bridge one day Hang tough, Champ
Ok, I'm drowning and the umbrella has blown so far away. I'm just gonna change my name to Joe Btfsplk and be done with it. This year has been mostly a major cluster....
