I was out in the Southern California area this past weekend, photographing a Gulfstream G-IV, and decided to spend a couple of extra days out there, for some R&R.
Hooked up with some airliner buddies of mine, and although the sun is not in the greatest place in the sky for airliner photography at LAX, we went to the "new and improved" Proud Bird Restaurant and we stayed from around 11.30 a.m. till past 6.00 p.m. We had lunch AND dinner there, and saw a lot of beautiful airliners come in.
The lighting wasn't the greatest, but I still like this shot, freezing the action of the large fan blade.
Hope everyone is having a great week! Friday is almost here.

So sad about your anemia troubles. Have they started talking about bone marrow yet? You wouldn't be the only one to not be able to answer questions about the "features of the bum".
Take it easy, enjoy the good days when you have them, bummer on the tinnitus too.
Thanks Laura. Bone Marrow not discused yet. Main reason is that I've had a shed load of blood tests and apparently the manufacturing side of the house is in good order. Right now the feeling is I'm loosing blood - but where from?
I have been thinking about you fro the last week and was planning on sending out the digital St. Bernards to look for you when I had a minute. You are still grappling with some health issues? Sorry to hear that, hope Thea is giving you Royal Family style care. You are in my thoughts, and more importantly, prayers. Feel better my friend.
Going through the logistics of my B52 shoot tomorrow. I'll fill you in on the details after the fact. Pretty amazing event and photo opportunity. We're going to try to do a 360 camera test run in the T38 as well, lot's going on tomorrow.

In recovery mode again. The shiner is almost gone, finally. Got tagged by Friday the 13th. And how are you, Anwar, and your little bunny?

Thanks for your kind thoughts, Jim. I’m happy to confirm that Thea is looking after me very well – as she has for the last 36 years +. I think one of the worst aspects of my situation is the irritability that is apparently a known symptom. Of course, ones nearest and dearest are the main recipients of the new found ability to be awkward, difficult, and stupid. Oh, and having been very healthy for nearly all my life has made the current situation difficult for me to deal with. How pathetically self indulgent.
And what of you? Up click on your Hollywood production machinery. Mobile bed chauffeuring. B52 + T38. Time lapse. I need to get horizontal in a darkened room!
Boy do I understand what you are saying Nick, Sheila and Thea deserve crowns. Being healthy and having close to super human tenacity and constitutions sure doesn't prepare one for life's eventual frailties Dang it, we deserve to not age like the rest of our species on earth I discuss this (in a very thankful tone) every morning with The Creator, and pray for the continued gift of denial
As far as tomorrow's activities, it involves a significant chapter in history surrounding the Vietnam era and it is an honor to have been asked to to play a small part in the activities. I'll fill you in after the smoke clears.
Feel better Bud! My best to Thea and of course to you.
Just got home from the museum and transferring files now. The third building is getting the LED lighting now, working their way forward. I was shocked to walk in and be able to clearly see the B-2 on the left.
Ok, good that they checked the manufacturing side of it. Hope they find the "leak" or wherever the blood seems to be going. That irritability can be maddening for the both of you, for sure. I take it you didn't have any surgery before the anemia started?
