You can see the an original piston-engine version here:
We have had an excellent time here in Seattle and it is time for us to head back to the furnace, also known as Texas. We sure have enjoyed the very mild temperatures here, to say the least.
The Boeing Everett tour was awesome, and the Museum of Flight at King County Airport was incredible! Didn't have nearly enough time to see all it offered. Guess I'll have to come back.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, James stabilized around 5:30 this morning and he's continuing to improve. Mom is battling nausea (from Magnesium Laura?) Candace had pre-eclampsia with her first, showed no sign of it this time, until Friday morning when her BP spiked and they admitted her, induced late yesterday afternoon, then about midnight everything hit the proverbial fan and it was "Katy bar the door" for about six hours. But, because "God is Good.................All the time!" We are out of the woods and very grateful. I think he would be much better off at the hangar with his Papa..............Show more →
Looks like I picked the right day to drop in. Delighted to see that the story is playing out well so far, and praying for a continued recovery and a long, beautiful life.
Thank you all for the continued thoughts and wishes, you’re the best! This has been quite a diverse week. I’m working on a re-landscaping plan for Rainforest Lane now that the pool is finished up. I worked all day Friday digging out the roots of two 22 year old 9’ tall holly bushes. When it got too dark to work I drug myself in, showered and headed to bed, until 1:30 when James’ arrival was expedited and off we went. Sheila has a bunch of her friends over tonight so I took that opportunity to relax and go shoot a new warehouse project in Lewisville...........I feel like I’m loafing!
Well...after 2-1/2 days of 100° west Texas weather....I am happy to say that I re-upped my A2A photo membership card at the Breckenridge Airshow ....a little anyway
Not quite as exciting as looping and rolling through the Texas sky with a bunch of Six's but..............."eeeets a living"
And one more project checked off my (hopefully), never ending list.

Neat find --- 1938 turbo conversion? Likely Pilots carry a sack of tools to snug things up during the pre-flight!
