I hope they do a tow-over photo opportunity like they did with the experimental and presidential planes on the way to the permanent exhibit.
Can you imagine the fun that could be had?! I just sent my Buddy Ross Perot Jr. a note with the video attached and suggested that we need three of them to play with while they're gassing up the Talon
That rig would solve my drone insecurity because I could be holding the camera again! But at $250K a copy, the hourly rate would be a challenge.
Hey, has anyone here had the pleasure of watching 4K cinema on an OLED flat screen? I was in Best Buy this afternoon looking at a 65" to 75" Sony 4K Bravia TV's. I had made up my mind on a new generation of Sony 4K with an inventive pixel technology that renders a wonderfully real picture, but does away with the "just a bit too real and vivid" character, really nice display. I should have gotten that one and bolted for the door before the consultant said he had one more display that I should consider, a 65" Sony OLED display. I've looked at OLED displays for a couple of years, ever since LG invented the technology, cool for sure, but initially it had some downsides and the power that be had some reservations about longevity, not good things for a technology that was that pricey. Fast forward a couple of years, still pricey, but refinements in the technology put those negatives in the rear view mirror. I walked down the aisle and stopped cold in my tracks in front of the most incredible display I've ever witnessed. The image has none of the "too real" characteristics that have plagued many large flat screen displays, I just stood there hoping that a flaw would show up..............never did. If you want a visual treat, stop by your local Best Buy and take a gander at the Sony demo reel on the new Sony OLED, given our visual depth here, I'd guess it will roll your socks up and down.........
Some major strides in finalizing the ISAP Tucson 2018 Symposium, details to follow, but the sooner you get signed up, the less it will cost. We have a 99 buck DoubleTree rate, with breakfast and wi-fi, everyone else is $200 and up for the period. We only have certain number of rooms at that rate though so if you think you're coming, lock it in. More soon.
Sad news today. Surgeon Captain Rick Jolly has died. Likely will not ring a bell for most - but look up his exploits in the Falklands war - and prepare to be amazed. Not many Brits got an Argentine decoration after the war .....
How many of our family here are thinking that they will make the symposium. Tucson in March is pretty delightful if there's nothing going on at all! Especially given the frigid weather in so much of the country this year.
I've got El Centro, and possibly Luke along with the symposium so Spring in Arizona.........
Seriously considering it Jim, trying to figure out travel. Probably would come in Wed afternoon so would have to skip that Pima session. I thought I saw something about staying March 18 for an airshow, but now I see Davis-Montham moved their show to next year so that would be out.
So we should plan to come in Wed, stay Wed-Sat nights, and head home on Sunday?
Mark, I did see the references in earlier emails about the March 18th date, and yes, DM moved their airshow back a year so that Luke and DM weren't having their shows a week apart
