I had the opportunity to spend the day in Austin, TX for the Formula One qualifying.
This motorsport photography thing is a different animal than shooting airplanes. I was really challenged by the views, and the movement of the cars, too many changes in speed and direction!
As an automotive photographer who is now practicing aviation stuff...I find aviation harder. The speeds and unpredictability of the movements of the planes vs the car taking the same line through the corner your shooting lap after lap. I also feel like the panning for automotive doesn't require as much movement either since it's mostly all horizontal but with aviation it's all directions at some point. Regardless, you came away with some very solid and great captures!
Before Anwar pops in... I'll give yo a heads-up Top of Page posts have a tradition here of needing an image to go with them.
Not only that, but there was a thread cleansing that happened a few months ago with more than 20 pages of posts removed with no explanation... supposedly for not having images in them ...

Seriously?! I'm waiting to see all the photos from Alliance but I'm guessing by the lack of posting that Zane is the only one that went with a camera. !
Come on guys, I'm in need of seeing some new awesome works!
Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Anaemia, Calcium deficiency, Vitamin D deficiency, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea – a wonderful combination – not! We are getting all this under control bit by bit. I hope to participate more shortly.

Thanks for all the images – much appreciated.
Wow, hope you get it sorted soon. My brother ended up using a CPAP machine for quite a long while until they figured out what was going on. Amazing what simply being properly rested in the morning did for his energy levels.
Sorry to hear that Nick. It's amazing how little variance in the levels it takes to really put yourself out of whack.

Something flying, but it's mud, hair, and mane, rather than aircraft...
