How does one get into doing Air to Air photography? I would love to try it as I love aviation and photographing aircraft but I wouldn't even know where or how to begin the process. I already do the equivalent in automotive(hanging out of a moving car to shoot another car driving).
The reason we absolutely had to be back in Miami by Saturday was so we could get some things in order, and leave our son in good hands with relatives, then still be ready to make our Tuesday flight to Paris. This is Anya's 15th birthday celebration (her birthday actually started just 20 minutes ago, local time), and we set up this trip months ago: everything reserved, everything prepaid (and nonrefundable). She's been looking forward to this for the better part of a year, and it wasn't going to get scrubbed if we could help it.
I'm also happy to report that I'm carrying a camera on this trip. It's been a long time...

Thanks in advance!
Hi Brandon:
Lots of ways to answer that. One thing for sure that you must have is a competent pilot and chase plane, and hopefully equally competent formation pilot in/for the targets. So my suggestion if you dont already is start hanging out at the local GA airport and get aviation friends. Nothing more important than a conservative crew that you can trust. The photo taking is the easy part.

Thanks Glenn,
Living here in Orlando, attending sun n fun every year amongst other air shows and also living about 25 mins away from Kissimmee where Stallion 51 calls home...I'd love to get a chance to one day try my hand at air to air shots. I hate only being able to admire amazing shots from others haha. I always try to challenge myself for shots and take every chance of picking up a camera to learn some how even if it's in my most comfortable element.
Tell Anya Happy Quinceañera from me! Hope she's picking up a camera or two, as well!
