Drones are obviously great tools, but it's tough to replace 50MP and a $3,000 optic.................
The Mavic 3 is close to that and although good, it's not that good compared to the R5 but every now and then I get a great image out of it.
.
Doesn't the Mavic 4 have a 100mp file, wonder if it's 2x better than the 3 but I doubt it, waiting to hear more feedback from you and Mike over the next year.
.
I know it's a no-no but they released the high altitude rating to around 3200' a few weeks ago, but I only fly 400' or less.
Mike and I have discussed this at length, the 100 MP thing is all marketing hype, no visible improvement to the file and some extra work. The Mavic 3 Pro/Mavic 4 Pro quality is good, but it's like people telling you they don't need a camera because their iPhone has more MP than their camera, it's ridiculous. There are MP and there are MP, try whipping up a 60" print from phones/drones and you will quickly find out the difference. Now it is true that, if you can't take a great image with your phone, you most likely can't do it with a good camera either, but that is a whole other topic...........

Excellent shot at ISO 12800! I set max. ISO in my cameras at 10000. I rarely rarely want to go over 6400. Here is one from this morning at ISO10000. I used Topaz Denoise to take care of that.

Right now I'm coming to you from HQ, which is a delightful 72 degrees, quite a contrast to the 103/110 that is waiting for me outside. (deleted)
Wow, 72 degrees. It almost got that hot here about 3 times last week. The next few days are projected to start in the high 50's and stay in the low 60's till Sunday and Monday when it should reach 64 & 65 degrees.
If you need a break from the heat, just bring the missus to the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay for a couple of days recuperation. We all know she deserves it. The tsunamis over, come on down.

I hope you will allow me to invade your post Bill.
I finally found pictures I took the Summer of 1965 living in a trailer atop Murphy Ck Rd-Mt, as a forest fire approached from the South.
Mt Shasta could be seen on a very clear day.
