Haha - great - I have lynx running on an old beige g3 which is my webserver. Very handy when bandwidth is low or your phone network charges by the kilobyte. The new delete buttons won't work in lynx I'm afraid. you'll have to use firefox.

Are you using the internal search function or Google?
Fred I've tried all of the above. On the Google search I get a lot more returns but still not what I'm looking for. I know you have your hands full right now but IMO having a date parameter in the search function would be an improvement.
A quick explanation of the new 'feature'. You may be aware that a lot of pms have been hanging around and people don't delete them. they go right back, literally years. i have written automatic obsolescence in the pm page. every time someone logs into it, ten more pms older than 60 days old get emailed to their senders and recipients, and deleted. this continuous process should settle down once there are no more messages older than 60 days. i have concatenated the messages so that as few emails as possible get sent out, but each of you may receive a few depending on how many tens of old pms you have left in your inbox.
we have gone from 82000 pms to 77000 in only an hour or two, but there are still 53000 to go.
Update: there is a new field in your profile called 'Email on PM auto-delete'. If you switch it off, your old PMs will be deleted without notifying you. If you leave it on, you will have the PM emailed to you before it is automatically deleted.

I think that mailing them out is a great idea. I remember when, a year or so ago, it was decided to purge out older PM's and I lost a couple of valuable pieces of information. At least with an e-mail, the account holder has a chance to retreive that information if they choose to do so.
Oh, one question on PM's - I see a date stamp on the PM inbox list, but I do not see a time stamp. When dealing with buying and selling, sometimes, a posted time can be useful.

I took the timestamp out due to space constraints. The list is in chronological order. Some people still have quite few pixels on their monitors. I have started accessing the site with an iphone and I'm sure pocket access is going to continue increasing. We also gained two columns. Ask Fred for a second opinion.
any news on the 'new' flag in the recent posts page? Still not working. I will get the flag next to my recent posts, but not when there are new replies from someone else.
