The Quad Diamonds of Rochelle, IL where the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific meet.... Over 140 trains a day pass here. This is about 100 yards from where I live. The town museum has pictures of Streamliners like the Burlington Zephyr crossing these same diamonds.
Bryan, you sure get out a lot around there... I remember my brother saying that there is actually a set of bleachers somewhere at the diamonds for people to watch trains go by. He used to take his boys there and like you said, there are LOTS of trains that go through that crossing.
And being as close as you are to that, I am sure that is never a quiet place.
Keith, those are some really cool shots. I really like the last two.

Thanks Keith,
There are benches to watch the trains and a train themed playground for the kids... We had about ten inches of snow last night so, if you liked those last 2 wait until you see this mornings action....
Geez Keith, nothing like kicking it up a couple of artistic notches. I really like that last one. I remember a shot taken years ago in the Sierra Railroad roundhose by a friend. Other than the red fire extinguisher, it might as well have been b&w!
Hahhh! I thought I recognized Arnold's Loop, on the old WP. Still love the fish eye shot taken in Wagon Mound, that shot made me buy a fisheye last year.
