Walter,
Don't know if this thread will become as popular as the Mustang thread, but it appears that those participating are really trained photographers also.
I live in South Georgia, US and about all I get to see is pine trees and flat land. I envy you guys that get to shoot trains in those beautiful mountainous areas. I've really enjoyed this thread and I hope it can stay alive!
I live in CSX territory, so I'm thrilled to get to shoot any 'foreign' road. Here's a sampling of my stuff....
A Union Pacific busting 70mph heading south out of Waycross, GA towards Jacksonville, FL
another BNSF locomotive pulling through the small town of Blackshear, GA (where I live). I had to chase this guy and out run him so I could get on the overpass to snap this picture.
Wow, there are some wonderful shots here. Jack, I love the one of Rice yard. Especially since it shows how wavering all the rails are in the reflections. This surely makes me want to go out and shoot more trains. I hope to catch some old ones this coming weekend at the Campo railroad museum. Campo California, part of the old Arizona and Eastern Railway. They do Fan trips and one is going to Tecate Mex. that weekend. Unfortunately without me..
OK,
I'll play along. I photograph mainly sports, but I do take a few non sports related photos. Here are some from some local trains - trying to get some shots together for my sons bed room (he's 3) when we decide to make it his "Big Boy" room

Many really fine train photos being posted. Here's my contribution. This is the Berner Oberland Bahn (BOB) which runs in the Berner Oberland, Switzerland.
A portion of the "BOB" station in Lauterbrunnen.
An adjoining train takes you into the high mountains.
