Another fine image Christian. I like the image as it is posted. The "hot spot" really did not draw my eye away as the DOF held me on the butterfly. I too prefer the oncoming car instead of the passing car. The headlights add interest and take the eye away from the hot spot as well. Well done!

Thanks Louis,
I always appreciate you stopping by

An unusual take on the assignment. A butterfly that is not streetwise, aint gonna make it. What an odd place to find a butterfly.

Why did the butterfly cross the road.........

Thanks Caley

Hi Christian, Your beautiful photo is hearbreaking all the more so that this evening (in my own quest to get some butterfly photographs) I saw several that seemed intent on resting on the pavement, probably because of its warmth. In any case I too was worried they would get stepped on or driven over.

Oh Evleen, you have a tender heart, like me! I even feel sad when a butterfly flies into my car and I can't swerve or dodge it. The world needs all the butterflies, in my opinion.

I'm late!! But congratulations, finalist!!!

Christian, what really got me about your amazing entry was the combination of title AND image. The romantic in me saw the poor little butterfly as a symbol of all the fragile innocence and beauty, lost on Sunset Boulevard. Perfect in mood, and lighting, and compostion...in my opinion.

I just love it, my friend!
