Nice shot Brian. There you are in your comfortable chair and there is the dragon posing perfectly right in front of you. And then there are others of us, sitting in damp sand in a riverbed, with biting flies and tropical sun, stalking one dragon!!! Is that your trained birthday friend? You must be a dragonfly whisperer
Thanks for the comments everyone - just wanted to show how hard it is shooting these in the garden .
Henry - no this is a male the Birthday one was a female. I did try a couple of times to get him on my finger but he wouldn't- needs a bit more training.
Beautful dragonfly shot! I particulary like the background color and effect. Ditto Re Henry's comments. You have talent and good fortune. Please send some this way
green with envy,
amy
This is simply amazing. And he is even smiling. Why do I never have that effect on anyone with my camera? This one deserves its own post so no one will miss it. Congratulations! Amy
Thanks ASmy and Henry. These small darter dragonflies are delightful- always seem to be chatting to you when you are taking pics . (no I don't talk to them )

Hard Brian I should be so lucky!! I can't get within 5' of these insects! Love your equipment creativity also!!
It is nice to see you in action BTW! Has the rain in the UK been a problem at your home/pond??

Oh..well done on the d.f
Thanks Dan for the comments and kind concern. No, no problems with rain/floods where I am but we did get alot of rain which didn't do the dragonflies much good.

Glad to hear you are ok. I have a vg friend in Otley and he is not a happy camper!

I don't know how you manage such wonderful shots under the toughest of conditions. I hope you had at least a cold drink on hand to ward off dehydration.
Good dragonfly shot. Who took the shot of you working so hard?
