Supposedly, the order of announcement is the replacement for the 30D, then the 5D and last of all the 1Ds-II. This should happend over the next couple of months. Professional stores who are making their orders up for the fall and winter are being cautioned not to make plans for christmas (i.e. October-December) promotions for the 30D and 5D.

Well, yes, months ago in the pre-PMA topic, actually
Verdict then: Bad photoshopping. Verdict now: still a bad photoshop job.
Yes, very bad job : 20D still on the side of the upper left picture, wheel not aligned between the 2 bottom pictures, etc! We have not seen anything new in this rumor thread in a while now... apparently we have only a week left of wild guesses before starting the all new 40D threads.

Just to be clear... you guys are not suggesting that Phil is the one that created the final product on these altered images are you?
Humm given what he wrote when the 1D3 was anounced, I am not sure anymore
(Phil: As has become Canon's approach we had no information on this camera before embargo, this lack of trust they show with their most important (and reliable) publications only continues to damage their image within the industry.)
I am wondering what he will say when the 40D will come out in (maybe) a week... beside discussing the big CF card compartment opening issue (not one for me nor anybody that I know ever had a problem of data loss by accidentally opening the CF card while recording).
These would be excellent news, and would mean the 40D will approach the IQ of the 5D.
The 40D would be a real upgrade for me with my 350D.
The only think that appears to be missing from the ideal 1.6x camera list is a better viewfinder, better AF and body IS (Not minor things of course)

"confirmed" by who? I just see more rumors there...
The 40D with the 28-135 IS lens kit was just put into the my store's inventory system today. The retail price on it is $1,599.99. There is not really much information other than the release date in the system is September 2nd and it'll run for $1600.
so, then there appear to be no signs of this rumored 18-55mm IS lens that Rafa Irusta says is going to be in a new 40D kit... Not sure what if anything that tells us about the other specs that are rumored on that page...

Fred,
I have also the same confirmation.... Rafa Irusta has advanced the specs of the 400D and the specs of the Mk III WORLDWIDE before ... matching the Canon specs previously to nobody else ... so itīs a trusty source

It's likely not to be FF. Offering the 28-135mm is probably just one of the kits that will be available - it's also Canon's way of moving stock.
Given that those leaked product shots (those digiback/MF shots) had the white square on the lens, instead of the red circle, you can pretty much say for certain that the 40D accepts EF-s. (Assuming those product shots are legit, of course.) Which means no FF, not even APS-H.
