SD, South Dakota I guess?
If it wasnt for Hollywood and John Wayne I wouldnt be guessing it is a Prong Horn Antelope and pretty moth eaten at that . Esp the first two.
Yeah. I am just being jealous. Great shots as usual. I am beginning to suss what an amazing country the USA is

sorry my bad Tim ,
yes of course South Dakota. The Pronghorn is a animal unique to the north american continent and a few states out west only. They are in a Family of One , no other animals are quite like them. They were mis labeled "antelope" but they are not kin to deer or to antelope but more closely to goats. If distances of over 250 yards are taken into account they are most likely the fastest animal on earth. They have been clocked at over 70mph. But they can sustain a run of 45 to 50mph for hours!! As for the moth eaten look , well their coats are amazing, their "fur" is more like a thich hair that is empty inside. This air space insulates them from the extremes of their open range environment and the lack of it on the side is that it is just "crushed" a bit by their gait while running and jumping. Curious critters they are , they prefer to always go under a fence. many believed them not to be capable of jumping one, but i have some frames of a guy doing just that

Just the normal in camera noise removal. My wife wanted a 16x20 and unless you're right on top of the photo you can't see any noise at all. Shot raw, quick PS for levels and such, then sized down and output to jpeg. Just minimal stuff - any suggestions are always apperciated

hmm just fooling around with my new camera in and around the house while it's dark and stormy outside. Abit of reading in the manual etc... I made this shot with the live view option. not that it added anything, but it was the mode the camera was set to, just to try it out. This one is shot @ iso3200 135mm F2.8 1/20 sec. I'm quite happy with the results i can get with this camera, it's more than i could ever dream of, amazing
Sorry for this high iso crap picture, but i'm quite enthusiastic about it and wanted to share it here Oh well it's my default test subject, i guess you can appreciate it... ...Show more →
Wow Raymond, now this shot is just awsome. I really like it ... heck, he almost looks distinguished!!!! The shooting conditions are equally impressive. Nice work.

FS, that is a great shot. EXIF shows 1.6" at f18, and 17mm (max ap f2.8)... I'm assuming the 17-55? Love the color, nicely done.
You are correct and thank you.
About 10 minutes after I took that shot security stopped me and asked if I had a permit to use a tripod. I had no idea I needed a permit and security did not mention anything when I entered the fair, but I knew I had the picture I wanted.

We can be thankful to Osama for two things;
a) Once our luggage is checked in the plane will not leave without us
b) The massive secuity lock down we now live under has provided jobs for people who were previously unemployable

The really down and out side of Phnom Penh (Cambodia) Directly across the Ton le Sap (Mekong) from the tourist oriented Siswanath Quay
People do live there.
Definately not the standard of the previous shots on this page, but keeping the thread alive
