Carlos has met some girlfriends in his favorite wood. It was all frozen, like you have seen on the images of Guy. Wonderful to make some nice pictures. So i went out with my D80 and a whole bag-O-glass, since i had no idea what should do the trick. This one is shot with my 70-300 (i left the 70-200 home since i thought i would not use it ). i have some nice sigma 10-20 images too, i'll post some later.
i'm shot... by my wife... No not with a gun and not with her D40 either. She tried my D2x and a 70-200. i've had it in manual mode on F3.5 1/250 and iso-auto (iso250 was selected). She came up with this shot @160mm. hmm if she is able to handhold that rig, i might as well get a D3 and 200-400 combo for myself right?
Here's an early morning shot from deep into one of Thailand's huge national parks. Fuji S3 with Nikkor 80-200 AF-S. Some adjustments in PS obviously, but not an awful lot.
I have loved this thread for quite some time, and I finally got the courage to actually post any of my captures . . . I'm a hobbiest and have been simply awed by the quality of this thread.
It's taken me awhile to figure out how to post an image, so this is the first time I've ever posted any of my photos . . . both shots were taken with a D80 and the kit 18-135 lens.

I like the shot since my wife made it and i like the background... :worried:
Mrs Francois, that is a very well-taken picture of Carlos' slave. You are so good that you even managed to make him stop scowling like his master. I think you take great pictures, especially with the D2X and the 70-200. I further think you should seriously keep the D2X for yourself. Don't worry about Raymond; ask Carlos to help him dig around for a replacement.
Time for another shot with Carlos. This time he dressed up in anticipation of the christmas presents. he's guarding them in front of the tree
This family snapshot was done with my D80 ISO100 24mm F2.8 1/25 (i shoot manual most of the time if i use flash). i've triggered my sb800 remotely with the pop-up flash. A lot of work for a snapshot maybe, but always keep the sb800 on somewhere else in the room which provides me with nice light. Carlos isn't in focus but on this size it does not mind.

Chris, you can be impressed by anyone else's work, but don't bother being awed... those two shots of yours are beautiful, with great color and composition, and fully deserving of a proud place among the others here. No reason to be bashful at all!
Rodalfo, thank you for your kind remarks, and now that I've learned the ropes on how to post perhaps my better images will get a wider audience here at FM! (I don't mean that to sound like a threat )
I'm merely a hobbiest that jumped back into SLR photography after a 10 year layoff. I purchased a D80 a little more than a year ago and just recently upgraded to the D300. I've also added considerably to my lens collection over the past year, so I have no excuses other than the loose nut behind the lens for my images. This forum generally, and this thread specifically have served to inspire this hobby of mine . . . the images posted here are simply stunning and the people that post them are uncharacteristically talented, insightful, and helpful.

Hummmm, I like this guy
Hey with shots the quality of your first post, you fit in just fine. Your post processing and web prep are certainly at or above par with many of the images posted here. Wecome aboard
You are too kind. I am a rank amateur, but I get lucky sometimes. However, I truly believe it's better to be lucky than good! I just haven't gotten THAT lucky yet.
My PP skills leave much to be desired (I've yet to purchase CS3 . . . but have gotten a little more comfortable with NX). It also takes me forever to get the camera set up to take a picture . . . my favorite model (who happens to be 8-year old daughter) has completely lost patience with me!
Here are a few more images where I got lucky . . .
The moon rose just before the sun at Monument Valley
A "refreshingly cooler" feel from my normal digs in the desert southwest . . .
Keep feeding the ego folks . . . I'll torture you with more . . . seriously
Awesome shots from everyone and disappointing as there are no D3 shots on this thread . Give em' a whiplash Nikt ...
Been a while I posted lol, so here's a few images I got today. The first one was on a Carl Zeiss Luminar 25mm f3.5, the rest are on a Micro Nikkor 55mm Auto f3.5 nonAi. All were shot on a D1 and the Metz 32CT4 fitted with a ReyGay Flash Diffuser. No PP and no cropping.
