not a perfect shot, but an interesting pic.... the guy () was on top of a two-level bus in central Hong Kong. I just saw him, had a lucky shot with the 70-200VR and the bus disappeared. I don't know how he got there and if he is still alive...
Sheesh life is hard since i don't have such a great D3 or D300 . Nevertheless am i a happy nikon shooter. Look what i just got out of my pathetic D80 with even more pathetic 70-300 lens. Shot in an very overcast situation @ iso800 102mm F/5 1/80sec. I have a nice print too . By the way, this is my wife. Two problems here:
1. she will kill me when she knows, this is on the internet.
2. she might not let me buy a D3 because of this post.
Oh well i love living on the edge
Wonder if she still smiles like that if i point a nice D2x with a D3 label and fx logo on it, at her (you know what i mean?) grrr
Just kidding about the D80 and lens being pathetic. i love that combo
Thanks Francois, I stole the camera off my wife during a newborn visit of one of our friends. The camera hasnt gathered any dust on it, since my wife never puts it down.
Everyday i see this thread slipping down to the 2nd or 3rd page. Apparently we don't have any nice pictures to show anymore, now the D300 and D3 are released.Keep posting your work or are our image libraries dried up?
I've processed some images last night with the new version of capture NX. All i can say:i'm in love again. both with my D2x and the new version of capture. I've used lightroom for quite some time, and while that is really easy to use and helps with a speedy workflow it can not touch the quality of capture nx. That new camera setting control works like a charm. i've noticed the several D2x settings, which are also available for the D3(00). those work very nice. If you haven't tried it yet, i can recommend you to do so
Anyhoo here are two new images to keep this thread alive.
Converted with capture NX and BW conversion in CS3.
This sky was pretty boring, i gave the image a polarized filter look, just by using control points in capture NX . not a spectacular image i guess, but nice to practice some techniques in N
First shot with the sepia is great. Where is the Netherlands is that place? I was in the Netherlands once and it was all green and windmills. But only had a few days there, so would like to return.

it's not in the Netherlands, it's in Spain. Thanks for the comments
I need a D3 too, but put a D300 on LayAway, it is crying waiting for me on a cold shelf. Its cousin the D70s got the new 70-300vr lens after seeing Raymond's pictures with it, and here are some butterfly shots from the end of the season last month that the rig managed to eek out. NX provided a little help. I am hoping for D300 spectacularity!
Raymond is right. we must keep this thread running, so please excuse my humble offering. It takes a lot of courage to follow those butterfly shots. They are stunning.
