One more bird, a juvenile Sayaca Tanager, with an old telephoto + tube.

D3 + PK13 tube + Nikkor 400mm f/5.6 K AI'D ED non IF (no focus breathing), ISO 3200, f/8 at 1/400s, tripod. ~20% crop.
As this lens has a MFD of 5m I attached a tube to get focus at 3.5m.

Nikon D700 Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D and onboard nikon sb-27 flash! i also used LR4 to darken a bit and make black and white, however the original colored version looks cool as well! ill find and post soon!

masked and layered in photoshop.

really wanted stars with the wispy clouds going between the mountains.

Hey thanks Nik and Ed! I will be updating some of my lenses soon, esp my 300mm and 55mm. Will be getting the new 60mm micro, 200mm f4 micro and the 300mm f4 AFS for some serious stuff but yes older lenses does have its own character but for current work stuff, no unfortunately.
