This is the shot I've been most pleased with out of my short time with my D800. Taken with a 50mm 1.8 AI-S lens of my daughter who was a bit tired.

Yes, this one is excellent in my opinion. Is it tack sharp at 100% viewing - I have no idea, but who cares as it's the moment captured that counts. This is the type of image I strive for with my daughters too.

Thanks, John. My daughter loves having her picture taken, and I've taken a lot of her, but this is definitely my favorite. Although, she's not a fan of the black and white. She likes "being in color".

Yes Willy - the Washington coast - about 1/2 hour North of Grays Harbor.
