Thanks Eric, you too! Yeah, looks like it, I was on the the Hyatt pier. I've been fascinated by the densely clustered view of midtown from JC for several years now, and finally took a walk down there with a telephoto lens and a tripod.

A "few" shots from last week during my 6 day winter holiday. The South Island of NewZealand is a photographers heaven/playground/ecstacy pill...

It was mostly subzero (-8) temperatures but the D7000 performed without any issue. The only issue I had was on the 18-35mm AF ED lens at higher altitudes where the focus or zoom ring would stick, probably due to the plastic contracting at those altitudes. The D7000 can focus well on really low light (dusk) at subzero temps and at high altitudes (heli shots)... Battery was no issue as well. Video was also awesome but does require a proper video head. I have managed to burn more than 3k raw files and shortlisted a few (a few lol). Here are some, no photoshopping, no cropping, just loaded to NX2.3.2:

Great work Rey! I've always been curious about what you actually do to your photos, since you write "...no photoshopping, no cropping, just loaded to NX2.3.2".

Are you even adjusting anything like exposure, white balance, or Picture Control settings? If so, what PC settings do you use and do you tweak them? Again, I'm just curious because I love your results and you're one of the few people I've come across who works that way.

Hi thanks Mike! I have mentioned before that I use mostly the levels tools in NX2 and in worse case the exposure settings, otherwise, I make sure it looks nice first in camera, that's why I use proper exposure filters and colour correction filters so that there is minimal adjustments on NX2.

In NX2, I use the standard settings and the histogram is my best friend.

Levels is used so that highs and lows are spread out to its respective corners but making sure it's not clipped. Midtones need to be on the right place as well. Levels adjustments are quite tricky and I use each RGB channels to get it right. Basicly, for me, 3 things need to be met, highs, lows and midtones. If colours are a bit washed out, I don't use saturation, instead only adjust specific colour luminance. NX2 has all the tools I need and rarely need the help of Photoshop plus it looks better when done on NX2 anyway.
