Well, I'm pushing the limits of my current equipment which is required for Focus Stacking and at the moment, I need it to be very sturdy, as in zero micro shakes. One tiny vibration and this causes errors or artefacts in the Helicon Focus software... which can be resolved by tedious retouching in software. If some artefacts persists, then CS5 will solve it but it can be very tricky.
Here is one exampleL 38 frames, the other one was 85 frames... that was a doozy and I will prolly post the other one tomoro. The image below is only 4mm in actual size and is tilted about 45 degrees, so focus was very, very thin:
Nikon D7000, Carl Zeiss Luminar 25mm f/3.5, extension tubes, modified bellows to support camera, Ram mount with camera mount, SB28 and diffuser, SC17 Intel 486 uProcessor by ReyGay, on Flickr
+ update: fixed focus artefacts, well at least most of it
I have to check out this thread everyday just to feed my addiction for beautiful photography. So many talented artists. ReyGay always produced such fine work with the D1X but I have to say, I am enjoying his new camera a lot.
Tim: True that about the AB and the Irish team...I was expecting at least a close match but the ABs are the best at the moment. Thanks dude!
Gregstx: The D1X was a fine cam but it sucks bad on highlights and low light... the D7000 is one great small dslr . The unfortunate side is, it's giving me that itch to acquire better lenses and specialist gear, lol. Cheers!
