Yes, it works great as a portrait lens too. I have many of my wife and kids but would rather not post here. Trust me though - it is very good with yummy bokeh.
Thanks! It is indeed taken in Asakusa, and you're right, it doesn't really get "empty." Had to wait a while for people to clear even temporarily, but eventually gave up.
A few from the past. These were shot back in 2001. I have cleaned the lens and mirror on my Nikon LS40 scanner, so scans now are just like when it was brand new, which means, devoid of ghosting on highlights and punchy, clear scans. Both were shot on a Nikon F4e, either on a Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 Ais or a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AFD. These were just loaded onto Silverfast Ai 6 with carefull midtone balance and highlight tolerance levels. No photoshopping or cropping. Cheers!
