Here's a shot using the D7000 Rokinon 85mm 1.4 with tc-200 I believe this would end up being a 170mm 2.8

Yes I would recommend the lens. It's sharp wide open and takes tele-extenders very well You will need to add a little contrast in post. Great value

Yes, I was under that heavy rain too.It started suddenly and just few minutes before the first placed runner pass in front of me. I had only a plastic bag and few rubber bands in my backpack .I ajusted it quickly and fortunately worked flawless.
