Sometimes you just take what Mother Nature gives you. Driving the other day with my D2h and 70-300VR and saw this. I wish I'd had a wide angle with me.

Great shots DontShoot and chickpiper.

Not what I had in mind but slowly learning the flashes. Hopefully I can capture some of my ideas one of these times.

Very nice pic. Excellent use of HDR etc. Stunning punch from the trees in the foreground.

Only negative is it seems almost too contrasty on my laptop screen. Slight halo above the mountains at the left. (Very faint.)

Takes your breath away and nice to see you got a clear air day.

Gorgeous shot. I just sent a link to a friend whose work regularly appears in the Sierra Club Wilderness calendar. His comment... "Yeah, spectacular."

Thank you CGrindahl. Camera was a tripod mounted D3 with a 14-24 f/2.8. I had a level mounted in the hot-shoe, self-timer, and had the exposure delay set. Some tweaks in Photoshop using Nik Viveza.
