Put the waders back on, switched from the 50f/1.8 to the 17-55f/2.8, and went back exploring the creek on our place with my dogs and D300 and 17-55f/2.8.

Charlie in creek
Maple (big leaf) and forest canopy from the creek
Three variations on the same theme... a fallen alder leaf in rippling water.
Stunning shot, I'm a huge fan of lighthouses. This is one of the best shots I've ever seen of this particular one. I have to go there one day. Long way from Alabama, though...
Not great, but a great dance hall in Gruene (pronounced Green), Texas: D700 w/ 14-24mm, 14 bit RAW sure gives me extra to play with, glad I started shooting RAW.
I prefer the color version. We lose the lovely magenta/pink tone on the left horizon in the BW version and a lot of the subtlety in the rocks.
In BW I just don't like the look of the rocks, shadows are too crunched and the highlights are too stark. The sky seems too flat in the large cloud in the middle.
