Thanks Gary, The story is a couple months ago I looked out my balcony and saw a hug plum of smoke. I drove to the fire and parked as close as I could to find three house completly engulfed. This car was in the driveway of one of the burning houses. There was a huge crowd with several hundred people. The police where pushing everyone back and just had time to squeeze off a couple of frames with the Nikkor 300 2.0 IF-ED AIS and the D3. I had the camera set on manual At ISO 500 and just guessed the shutter speed and shot wide open.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fires but houses across the street had ther windows melt. And of course the three house where burned to the ground.

Thank you very much . Have you not been much of a B/W person in the past? I do favor film B/W over digital versions of same.
No, never did anything in B&W until just recently with my Leica. Now I am starting to love B&W and find myself converting most pics to B&W...the M8 is EXCELLENT for B&W. I would post some shots, but I am in the wrong thread for that
