I happen to like them all Paul. I was wondering what that highlight was in pic #1 but now I know by looking at pic #3. Nicely done.
Thanks!

That 85 1.4 just isn't sharp.....great shots Paul!
This 85 is wonderful, in that photo you can see a bit of purple fringing in her eye. About sharpness, I think that the method I use to resize my photos to web sizes has something to do with that. I´ll show the difference, so everybody can use it (if you like it)
Imagine you want to resize a pic to 600 px in its longest side, what I do is: 1º resize it in PS to just 1200 px (2x the final size); 2º filters -> sharpen -> sharpen (two or three times, until the image looks crappy at 100% ) 3º Resize again (always bicubic) at 600 px.
This one has been resized from the original size with this method
Thanks Paul. This proves how valuable PP work is. The shot is not 'excellent' until you apply your sharpening technique. And yeah, very slight purple fringe. I find my 85 1.4 is very sharp at 1.8 and razor sharp at f/2. At f/2 the CA is practically gone, like your shot shows.
Taken in April with a Nikon 12-24 f/4 lens. It's our King Apple tree. About 90 years old. Was about to fall over when we moved in but we've been pruning it back slowly over the last 5 years to take weight off the top and lower its center of gravity. The tree used to be over twice as tall. This tree has produced hundreds of pounds of apples every year. And it's a great place to sit under and read.
