Louis that last one really has a magnetic feel to it... Amazing how drawn you are to the glare - of that fine looking specimen I might add... you need to title that one... very nice.
Pavel, I was switching lenses so fast that morning that I had to pay the Navajo tour guide a bonus for acting as my caddy. I will have to check on my computer at home to find out which specific lens I used for these shots. Yes, unbelievably, these brilliant colors are very true to life. Thank you.
Pavel, Yes, that is exactly how it looked in real life. The Moon was being magnified by being near the horizon, and I used a telephoto to make it (the moon) even larger.

Easy to tell I'm a novice on this (and all) boards! After more than 24 hours, I finally figured out that I answered a question addressed to someone else.
However, to 1_of_9:
I agree with Pavel about this once-in-a-lifetime shot. In fact, yesteday I wanted to write about it but couldn't exactly figure out how (I really am quite a Luddite). I just wanted to thank you for sharing your haunting but strangely alluring and even peaceful photo.
And I just found out I have the same problem I saw reported previously: I can't see the last post unless it's mine.
Okay, I think this is really my best Nikon shot so far (with 1 month anniversary of Nikon). I took my AI Tele lens 135mm f/3.5 down from the attic and went out in the yard to shoot flowers. A 135mm f/3.5 all manual which doesn't meter on my new Nikon D80. So I had to manually turn the AP (f/3.5) value on the lens itself, use manual mode on the camera to set the shutter speed and manually focus on my subject.
With this era of Auto everything, it is really difficult to use. Everytime I thought I had my subject in focus, I was totally wrong. One of all my images deserves to be viewed. And I think the lens will go back to be a collectible. One thing I know, I think I'm really liking this prime lens idea. Zooms are very convenient but the quality of a prime blows me away.
With some tweaks in curves ( thanks Pavel )

Well, I am learning my D200 and will post some photos for C&C later. Until then, this is a shot taken years ago with an old... 990? @MP or something point and shoot. No processing. Taken in Florence, and I have always liked it.
