Thx guys! I used the 'landscape' mode picture control here. A little levels and curves too, and stuff. I love the 100/2. Especially the shallow DOF of the wide aperture. I also love the quality feel of it - the excellent build. Using it in itself is pleasing. I don't know enough about photography to give a proper review of it, or compare it to other lenses. I recommend Lloyd for that, i subscribe there. I've also ordered the Leica 90/2 APO ASPH in Nikon mount, and is excited about that, can't wait! Though i feel a bit guilty over spending so much on my hobby.....Show more →
Thanks for your thoughts on it . The lens I feel like I'm comparing it most to is one that's substantially cheaper, the 105/2.5, which has a beautiful out of focus area and is also widely available for over 1K less than the 100/2 new. But, I've seen the 100/2 and the 35/2 raved about a lot, and of course I've seen some excellent shots come from the 100/2 in particular.

I've got the 105/2.5 as well. Great portrait lens! It has a special quality there. But overall, i can't say i would compae it to the Zeiss.
Can't believe you actually made ALL the people get out of the chairs and off the beach and outta the water so you could take this shot, but it was WORTH IT!
