Not to worry Pavel... we are all sensitive to the potential dangers in the world for todays children, but I don't have any reason to suspect EVERY photo of EVERY child I see.
My God, are we to hide in our houses now? Maybe we should consider burkas for our kids... you know, you can see them, but you REALLY can't see them...
Just be sure and put a monogram on the shoulder so we can tell one from the other
What a world this has become... again!
By-the-way Pavel... lovely kids to be proud of and nice photos to take pride in.
lol, certainly the process of capturing the Ant wasn't awesome ~ it was exhaustive .
That working Ant is about 3mm or less in size. I let the Ant climb up a tiny twig and held the twig on another tripod. I shot this outdoors on a sunny day and left the Ant to wander back and forth from end to end of the twig. I "simply" waited for the Ant to stop moving and finished a roll of film for this shoot which took me an hour or more cuz time just past by so quickly because I was entertained by the behavior of the Ant while observing it through my viewfinder.
It was an exhaustive photo shoot especially when I used the bellows as a way to focus a very tiny subject with a very narrow focus. The view inside the viewfinder was also pretty dark cuz the lens was stopped down to about f11 and the length of the bellows was at its max plus the added extension tubes , so yes it was very dark and the bright sunlight even made it worse. To counteract with this, I have to cover my head and the camera with a black cloth similar to the ones used for large format cameras just to see clearly inside the dark viewfinder of my Nikkormat. The shutter speed of the Nikkormat was set to 1000th/sec ~ not bad for an old camera .
**Why Ant with a capital 'A'? Ants deserve respect and I think they have a 'mind' of their own and of course, a world of their own.**
This is my little contribution to this great thread. Taken on a D50 with a 50mm 1.8 lens. It's a noisy shot at ISO 1600 and the white balance is off because of some fluorescent alley lamps giving off a green glow. Technically, it's horrid.
But it's still my best and favourite shot. It was taken last year during La Merce festivities in Barcelona. My friends and I were walking down a very narrow and dimly lit alley when we heard a parade of drummers heading our way. Everyone was pushed to the side as the drummers marched by, the sound was deafening and there was smoke everywhere from fireworks going off. It was chaotic and an amazing experience! I pulled out my camera and aimed this shot at one of the drumming groups going by and this was the result. I added heavy vignetting to suggest a sense of intimacy and just how close we were to these thunderous drums. The green and orange seem to work well!
My friends always comment on how this picture always takes them back to that moment, like we are right there again. I think that's just about the best comment one can hope to get when capturing memories.
This was shot about a week ago...my first ever Green Heron. I'd never even seen one of these fascinating birds. I was staring right at him, and I couldn't see him. He had his head pointing straight up, and he was swaying like a reed. After he thought I had took off...I doubled back and got within about 150 feet of him to take this shot, and it still didn't fill the frame as much as I would have liked.
