I'm not into macro in any way but I recently got the 105 VR and so I've been taking it around with me. Man what a large lens! But the focus is pretty good - excellent for a macro and the VR sure helps with normal kinds of shots. It's not bad at all as a versatile all around lens ... and pretty good for macro too (if they have baby smoooth skin )
Anyways ... I took a walk to our North Carolina Science museum ... a fantastic treasure for many, many kids and visitors. There they have a butterfly room. This macro thing, I can see, is not for me. Dof less than a dime turned sideways and things keep moving! How do some of you get such great macro shots of fast insects like dragonflies? Most of the thirty or so shots I took were with the dof in the wrong place ... but a few came out ok. These two I liked.
This is my first post here on FM, so hello everbody!
I've been reading this forum for a while and already got lots of useful information from here. I really like the friendly way people behave on the forum.
I'm from Austria, please excuse my mistakes in spelling that may occur. The first pic I'd like to show here is this part of an old austrian steam loco, taken last october.
Don't sell yourself short, man! You're taller than me!
These are wonderful, that lens is my favorite toy (well, machine, really) of the moment.
