i'm guessing you exported this shot using Lightroom? it's got the typical artifacts in the high contrast areas...

you might want to give the LR Mogrify plug-in a try.

thanks for the comment! i tried a cooler wb, but the image didn't have the fall atmosphere that i was going for..
