Here's just a simple test shot. I made this to see how 'bad' iso1600 looks when there is enough light to shoot @ iso400 or even 200. I've noticed a lot of FX samples @ higher iso's in bright daylight shooting @ 1/1000 So i thought lets see how a D300 does in a situation like that. FYI: i have all noise reduction turned off, i like the detail i can capture with any camera. Noise reduction kills detail, so i turned it off. (even in my lousy D80)
Long time since I posted anything here. Went to a concert yesterday (actually, it was a car race, but they had music, and the girls were prettier than the cars ). D80 with 70-300 ED
D300 16-85VR. The trondheim fjord. The small island in the picture, is 'Munkholmen' - Munkholmen was used as a place of execution already at the end of the first
millennium. According to the Norse Sagas a monastery was established here in about the year 1100. The Nidarholm Monastery grew very rich. By the time of the Reformation in 1537 it had acquired and inherited 200 farms around the fjord.

I hesitate to call a child frightening. But I get the heebie jeebies when I look at it. She could be the model for "Bride of Chucky." Sweet and cute little girls just aren't supposed to have a stare that borders malevolent. I'm going around and around with this one.
