I watched this old tree rat whoop a couple of younger squirrels to maintain his seat in the sun - it was a cold breezy day. I felt such triumphant behaviour deserved a picture for posterity!
Just this morning. I always hated the live view feature in concept but here at this rally where Senator Clinton was being endorsed by North Carolina's Governor - it came in handy. It was the first time I had to use it ... in fact I had forgoten that its a feature on the D300 until a woman in the crowd asked me if "that" camera of mine could shoot using the rear LCD. I said no ... and then realised "whoa" yes ... it can. Then I had to figure it out.
It really came in handy shooting with my arms stretched out over my head. I guess its never too late for new tricks?
Here are a few from last night. Having only had my D2H in the horrible grey winter months and not being overly keen on what it could do there I was quite impressed how well it did when the sun was out.
Some happy snaps on the way home today. The white balance on this accidentally left on 2500K, took the shot and was about to delete it but liked the colours.
