it should fail right away.. isnt that the first thing YOU would want to test? you only have to hold it down for say 8 hours straight.. and just borrow your basic 4TB flash card.. and no problem! test to destruction...

What is the best price for a pre-order on the Mk3?
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Tom
I'd say $4,499.95.
Suggestions for ordering one? Check your local "pro" camera store and see how long the line is. Maybe you'll get lucky. Otherwise, wait a few weeks at least, or start checking B&H every minute beginning on 5/21, but they are closing from the 22nd afternoon to the morning of 25th.
I thought I saw $4350? Am I dreaming or did someone pre-order it from an unknown shop. Adam's Camera? Ohio or Tx.......cannot remember, up too late processing orders. getting punchy.......
For a very limited amount of time, a midwestern photo shop offered it on pre-order for that price, but then brought the price up to the now standard $4499.
I'm on the list at my dealer here in Miami, and they said that they still have no info as of today as to definitive ship dates... however they are expecting the first shipment to be around 5 cameras (19 pre-orders) and they will call me as soon as the shipment arrives. Hopefully it'll be first come, first served and happen at around 10:30AM on a weekday, and not happen between June 10th and 13th.
School's out, so my absolute maximum time to arrival would be 20 minutes, and that's if I have to get out of bed to leave
Okay, this was odd: I just ordered a spare battery from my dealer. NO one else has ordered one from them yet.
I know that 2200 shots is probably an underestimate (I've gotten 1900 from the 1100 BP511A), but I don't want to be charging the battery every day when it isn't empty. I know that it is designed to not have a memory, but so is my cell phone, and it doesn't last as long as it used to, and it's not even 9 months old yet.
you would think that others would probably order one too. But even B&H doesn't have it listed, Adorama does.

Do you know if they going to honor the pre-order price?

I got in on the pre-order from tallyn's at $4350.00. That was for the month of March only.

At this point, the lower the price, the longer the delivery. If the 'wow' price is a $100 discount, I don't think there are any deals.
I went to put a deposit on a mark III today and they still didn't know what the MSRP is but supposedly it's coming in last week of May and on sale first week of June from what I was told..They quoted me $4,999 but told me it is just a quote and if price changes they will adjust it..
I think most of us would like to see the battery price drop at least $20 from list, before buying a spare - on the other hand, there's really no urgent need to order one, when you can't get the camera
im sure this has already been asked, but unfortunately i lack the motivation to sort through 207 pages of information to find out... are the only full frame bodies canon offers now the 5d and the 1dmkII (non n version) ??
