Thanks for heads up - but I called, they will preorder, no promises as to timing, first come first served, couldn't tell me how many preorders they have, don't know when or how many cameras will come in - and the kicker, they charge your card now.
wtlloyd, today's the first time in ages that they are taking orders for it and it doesn't matter to me if they charge me for it now, using Bill Me Later and will start paying it off as soon as I get it, I have 6 mos before any finance charges creep up but should have it paid off in 3 months. At least it's shipping Now I need to find an extra battery.

Yes! finally bought my EOS 1d Mark3! its awesome!!! super, duper! Now there's lots of things to learn since im from a 30d.. but its awesome so far!! No AF issues on Ai Servo mode! its perfect I love every minute of it!! Its wonderful!
I have been having a hell of a time "expanding" the ISO selection and keeping it available. I go to CF 1-3 and "register H as high (6400) and L as low (50) and select "Apply".
My ISO range is still limited from 200 to 3200.
Anyone know of another function that could be limiting me?

Purchased mine last Tuesday. Sold my 1DII to make room for the Mark III, but the release came to late for me so I bought a 5D to fill the "no body gap." I love my 5D but the 1DMIII is in a different league. Absolutely no 1DMIII issues at all. Serial #520xxx. It's good to be back using a 1 series camera again.

My progression was 20D...another 20D, 5D, another 5D, 1DMkIIn, 1DMark III.
Right now I still have one of my 5Ds and Mark III...Loving that combo.
