I hope they finally bring out that 10-1000mm f/0.5 VR with 1:1 MACRO, internal focusing and weighs only 6 oz.!!! If they are smart they will add bluetooth, a cell phone, MP3 player, GPS, audio recorder, WiFi, and can double as a thermos!
Man, all's I want is a fluffy dice holder on the lens mount. Is that too much to ask for?!? Sheesh Nikon, never giving us what we need!
I would like to see a sticker kit for my D70. Perhaps one that would make it appear to be a mini D2X.
And a lens extension and girth kit. I can slip it over my 180 f2.8 and BAM! it looks like a 300 f2.8 AFS. Or better yet a white kit so I can pretend that I am shooting a Canon L lens. Yeah, that's what I want.
In all seriousness, I think that the d2Xs is already a great camera....but to make it better, perhaps make the NOISE handling better and that is all. I mean, what else would you want anything else?
If NIKON can make it less noisier or comparable to the 5D on ISO 800 and above, hands down, this D2Xs II would officially the best digital camera for a long time.
I think the D2x's noise if fine. What I would like to see is a new model come that would drop the price of the D2x to aproximately $3000 so that I can pick up one used for about $2000.
The new nikon bodies like the D40 already are beating the canon bodies for noise (if you look at dpreview) and despite that I don't think I would get one - when the D2x is already so good with noise and has soooo much more sexiness. Just drop the price for us with skinny walets.
If this is ment as a true rumor and not just a joke i will be very excited because real rumors about Nikon gear is hard to come by. Most of them are just trolling, pranks and jokes.
Personally i would be very happy with a modified D200 with the tripod mount thread located at the center of the body...not far away offset out there on the wiggly edge!

All I'd like is a superwide prime that' snot too expensive, and something sorta like a 17-70 f/2.8VR to replace my 28-70... as long as i'm dreaming i'd like a ferrari too.
they better make an mp-e 65 style lens that can be stopped down to about f/22.... that and have the new camera drop the resale value of the d2h low enough i can get 2 or 3 for the price of one
10-1000mm f/0.5 to f/64, SuperVR, a computer chips that gives suggestions when you are doing things wrong, weighs 6 ozs..
my D40 allready tries to be smart, so leave the chips... the 10-1000 will be lovelly tho, finally i can ditch all my lenses i drop a D2x in there too, don't need it anymore. any one interested? the bag is really heavy!

Greater dynamic range above middle gray and less noise and then it would be the perfect camera for me.
I personally welcome the new gear in Nikon's lineup -- because all those of you out there who are hungry to get the next best thing will start selling your D2x camera's, and dropping the prices on them in the used market so that I can afford one and can keep happily shooting for years to come.
How about one camera...no interchangeable lenses. 24MB full frame, 10-1000mm f/0.5, ISO 25-6400 with no noise at any ISO, 30 seconds- 1/10,000sec, with a flash sync up to 1/5,000 sec, VR and the chip vibration to shake off dust, 24 fps, with a CAM3000 engine, bluetooth transmission to any computer in the world.
If they did make this camera..I give it a month before someone would find something to bitch about.
Like I said before, it's a FF dslr with DX cropping abilities and that's why it needs new lenses to drive it. Current Nikkor FF lenses have light fall-offs & CA on them and Nikon reduced this values to a minimum on the newer lenses ~ probably wide angle zooms.
In all seriousness, I would be a little upset if the new nikon's are FF, because we have heard years of Nikon swearing that FF is NOT the future of Nikon DSLR technology and that they were 100% invested in the DX line.
I would be quite disappointed if Nikon jumped ship and went 35mm.
They've committed a lot to the DX line and I honestly can't see them making them useless for a new camera, forcing them to produce more lenses of already existing ranges and probably annoying more people about the DX line than pleasing those who are Nikon who want 35mm. At least from my Nikon consumership, I would view that as a very bad business move.
I mean honestly, how many people here would buy a 35mm Nikon with the same specs as the D2Xs and spend all the money to switch out their DX lenses (or wait probably years for Nikon to produce a 35mm geared lens of the same quality and range)?
As a D2Xs shooter and loving my 17-55 lens, I'm invested in the DX format. But, having said that, I prefer Nikon produce the best high-end products possible--even if that means moving towards FF. How can we complain about a new camera with improved noise control and IQ + a few other bells and whistles.
There will continue to be a niche for DX, even in a FF environment. Besides, a 5 or 6 or 7 grand camera will have a limited market.
