OK - - - back to the rumors at hand - - - I just got the new B&H catalog
in the mail. On the Canon lists of DSLR's (there are 2 lists - - one with
prices, and a few pages later, one with just product descriptions), the
1DM2n is MISSING from the list with prices. See pages 140 and 150-151.
Now, to be fair, the Nikon D2Hs is also missing in the same way.

The end is getting nearer, maybe.
Word on the street is that there is an "important" meeting at Canon Corporate Office in Lake Success, NY today and tomorrow. Keep checking press releases on Canon USA and Canon Europe websites
Perhaps patting themselves on the back for a job well done - no forums anywhere nor any Canon sites have leak anything so far in the countdown towards PMA 2007?
Shoot I leave for the day and come back and I missed out on all the fun. Can someone pass a virtual brew?
By the way - the story on the rabbit is that they bread them that large in the EU and North Korea has put in a bid to buy them for food - I'm not kidding here folks. Seriously - you can't make this stuff up! Canned Rabbit, Curried Rabbit, Rice and Rabbit for our friends up North

Just to show that we are indeed just a bunch of geeks on this forum with nothing better to do...
Saturn subtends (at perigee): 1.2 e5 km / 1.35 e9 km = 0.9 e-4 rad
If we generously say a rabbit is 1 foot tall then at two miles it subtends: 1 foot / 10,560 ft = just about exactly the same 0.9 e-4 rad.
what a coincidence.
we may now return to random rumour rants...
Still need to take account of:
Solar Radiance
Atmospheric Transmitance of light rays hitting the rabbit
Atmospheric Scattering of light rays entering atmospher
Reflectance from surrounding surface of the rabbit
Reflectance of the rabbit
Solar Zenith angle
Camera Zenith Angle
Atmospheric absorption of light rays reflected by the rabbit
Atmospheric transmitance of light rays reflected by the rabbit
Atmospheric scatting of light rays reflected by the rabbit
And the size of the rabbit must be computed in solid angles (Steradians)
I have been watching this thread quietly for weeks and I must saw with the latest on the rabbits if Canon doesn't let loose some information soon I am afraid what will happen here next.

And who are you that is so wise in the ways of science?
Though my world view may be inanely impacted by the films of strange Brits and my math and science skills of modest accord, I do possess enough common sense to know that if confronted by a rabbit of that stature that I would prefer to use the new 800mm DO than the new 18mm F2.8 until assured of his civility and with good knowledge as to the timing of his last full meal.
I think it's part of it is because truth is mixed with fiction and there have already been some leaks although we don't know the truth and so can not separate the two from one another.
