2006 was dominated by our baby daughter, so there was no travel or all that much other excitement. This is not my favorite photo of the year, but since this is a Landscape forum I figured it ought to be some sort of a landscape. And in that category, it's pretty much at the top of my list.
Taken in May, eight P45 panels stitched together. http://fm.jirman.com/Crossroads.jpg
The giant file size resulting from the 8 P45 panels came to good use - it now decorates my friend's astronaut office wall, where you can read the lettering on the boosters.
I'm going with a favorite from Cathedral Valley this fall.
What a great thread - a combination of beautiful pictures, good companionship for the year, and a tad of frustration -- man, why can't i get that shot?
What an amazing collection of art posted here! Most are simply breathtaking. What inspiration!
I cannot wait to get out this year and hopefully capture something I will feel comfortable enough to share in the Best of 2007 gallery.
Wishing a very happy and prosperous New Year to all and I look forward to being part of your community!
Somehow I forogot that in all the madness of 2006 I went on a trip to Tanzania. Despite some equipment disasters I did get to capture one or the other landscape.
OK, here's mine. Technically and artistically not as high as others here, but it's my favorite of the year because it was taken at sunrise on the trail to Telescope Peak in Death Valley, not far from the summit.
Cuverville Island off the Antarctic Peninsula. This was shot while the tenderboats still operated, shortly afterwards we got stranded for five hours due to waves and ice:
I'm not a landscape photog. More of a nature/fine art guy. But lord you guys are talented! This thread is amazing! You are an inspiring group. Now where did I store that wide angle lens.....
