Well, Here goes another question for for all my friends on FM. Please show your favorite photo from your files for the year 2006. This will be fun and also show the amazing talent found here on this web site. Dont be shy, This is your favorite of the bunch you pursued over this last year. I look forward to viewing each and every one. I will start with mine.
Great shot! Already? I know those crazies over at Nature & Wildlife have started, but there's still a month left in '06! Anyways...
This is not necessarily my favorite, but this was the first serious shot/outing I took after Henry W was kind enough to get me into this landscape stuff. Looking at it now, it looks like it needs some work. Good thing you all have taught me so much in the last year!
Well, we do still have a month left, but I don't see myself topping this one.
This is a shot of Cerro Torre in Parque Nacional los Glaciares in Argentina. I had such a fantastic trip down there and this shot is the most special of the ones I took.
It was about a 13 mile round trip hike to this lake at the base of the mountain. When I got there, the peak was entirely covered by clouds, but it looked like it might clear. Fortunately it did...three hours later!
I had plenty of time on my hands, and I met a ton of people there. Of the two most memorable, were a guy from Holland who asked me to take a picture of him "studying" the mountain. (That might not seem like an odd request, but as his back was to it, it certainly was. I still can't figure that one out.) And the other notable was an Australian named Guy who was going to spend two months traveling the southeastern US for no reason other than he liked the accent.
Anyway, here is my favorite shot of the year, Cerro Torre from Laguna Torre in black and white.

Okay fine, this is my sentimental favorite, but there's still plenty of shooting to be done this year!
It would be hard to top this one K. Fantastic shot . Now , this is what I mean. Yes. Great job and a wonderful photograph.
Woody
If you can top this one in a month. Well, I want to see it.
Not only my favorite of the year, but also the first thing I posted on FM. I look back at it through the filter of how much I've learned this year, and how much I've improved my equipment, and I know it's not a great shot, but it's the one that lit a fire under me.
I sure enjoyed the capture of it, and I sure enjoy the way it turned out.
Thanks Woody...I am already in danger of that. And, like Kevin said...the year ain't over yet. We may get snow this weekend! Better charge the batteries, clean the lenses, and tighten the fittings on the tripod.

.And the fire will grow Dave. and grow till your best will be the next shot you take. Love it and the Passion will last FOREVER.
I had a few other versions of this scene that others preferred over this one, but for me this summed up the experience I had viewing and shooting this with a wide view of the whole area. I had a few others through the year that I really liked too, and hoping not to sound like I'm patting my own back, but I think I've improved significantly this past year (thanks to the fine people at this forum included!), but this image is the 'the one' for me this year.
Woody, great idea, even if there is still a month to go. The images so far are truly awesome and a credit to all these fantastic people here.
I have three favourites, each in a different category that is close to my heart - an abstract, a landscape, a horse (which is a very recent thread here). So please forgive me for posting them all!
