Slowly going through the images from the Red Bull Air Race in Monument Valley. This is the first, but I've already found five or six others that I like... so watch this space for more. Not yet "pro" quality, but improving!
Not many helicopter shots, I'm afraid... but I think there are one or two more out there. Here's a pano I took right at the beginning (four images, 3450x6900) just to show the scale and the venue: http://www.pbase.com/rpaiz/image/78842534/large.jpg

In an effort to see my ol buddy Jim's thread hit the 1K post milestone, I'll offer up one from a recent shoot in Dallas.
We managed to find a couple beams of sunshine poking through the seemingly endless dark cloud cover and thunderstorms at the end of the day. As a Southern California boy, I'm not too keen on hearing tornado warnings on the airport ATIS like we did on this afternoon....
WOW! I didn't realize the races were held IN Monument Valley. I'll bet that was an amazing venue. That pano is pretty cool when ya realize what you're looking at.
Although less interesting since there's no hint of action or movement, at least this shot is sharp and I liked it. And yes, I'm also gunning for the 1K mark!: http://www.pbase.com/rpaiz/image/78843742/large.jpg
Tell ya what, Rodolfo, you're now on the top of my "when in Phoenix, who to call for lunch" short list. I'll keep ya posted...! I tend to do quite a bit of work out there.
Hey! You guys can't have lunch without me!! Dan, you can't let a little tornado warning scare you, we have continuous warnings and watches from about early April to early June. I don't know which day you went home but I drove home from the airport in 84 mph winds to find my 40' Bradford Pear in my neighbor's pool, welcome to Spring in Texas. Seriously, I 'm disappointed we couldn't put lunch or dinner together, we'll keep trying.
Great shots all of you. What a talent pool we've got going here. Sorry I've been absent from our thread, I'm slammed between shooting and Photoshopping. You guys are doing wonderfully carrying the torch.
I did get to spend some time with our own ESA at a Cub fly-in last weekend. Here he is deftly handling his Mooney on a beautiful grass strip in North Texas.
And God bless Nigel Lamb for holding his aircraft steady in that turn: http://www.pbase.com/rpaiz/image/78866462/large.jpg
P.S. I mistakenly desaturated the colors a little on this picture and had to upload a second version to Pbase. However, the cache on FM shows the first image, not the updated one.
